About The Power Open

The Power Open is an annual charity golf tournament held in the White Mountains Silver Creek Golf Course. The tournament was established in 1998 and has raised $528,825 for local Arizona charities. Previous charities have been The Arizona Chapter of the Transverse Myelitis Association, Fishers of Men for Veterans Ministries, Sunshine Acres Orphanage, American Diabetes Foundation, White Mountain Food Bank, Holbrook Community Center, Page Lake Powell Community Foundation, Stepping Stones, Round Valley Food Bank and Senior Citizen’s Center, NCC Community Food Bank, Circle of Page, Pima Animal Care Center, and The Ryan House.

A different charity is chosen each year by the Power Open Committee with the intent to spread the opportunity to share with those in need in as many different local areas as possible. Please help us help those in need by sponsoring in this year’s event. Last year we set a record and raised over $44,000 for Pima Animal Care Center and the Circle of Page. The charities that have been selected this year are:

The Treasure House is a supportive living community for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A strong emphasis on independence, respect, and community integration will provide an optimal environment for residents to live, work, and enjoy recreational activities while being part of a larger family. Our vision for the future is to establish the Treasure House model as the ideal way to help adults with cognitive disabilities realize their full potential. Cpl. Joe McCarthy Foundation The Foundation was created in the spirit of Joe. In his and the spirit of many other heroes, we promise to enhance the quality of life for all on their behalf.

New Covenant Church Community Center Provides meals to people in Apache County. Provide approximately 500 meals a month to individuals and families in the St Johns Apache County AZ area.

Tournament Details

The Power Open - Winter Classic event will consist of a single Two-Day Tournament. The spots are first come first served, based on when the registration was submitted through the website, and payment received (for check payments). For a detailed schedule of the event please view the Itinerary in the section below. 

Winter Classic Tournament:

Check In: Wednesday January 21st: 11:00 AM to 12:25 PM

Tournament Dates: January 21st 12:30 PM Tee off, January 22nd8:30 AM Tee off

  • This event is limited to 36 teams (based on first come first serve & payment received).
  • All Teams will play The O'odham Course for one of the days and the Piipaash Course for the other.
  • 4-Person Scramble / combined 2-day score (the first day’s score will be used to flight the field).
  • Putting and Chipping Contest after the opening round.
  • After Final Round Reception with lunch served during award ceremony.
  • There will be skill prizes on each hole on both days of the tournament.

Scramble Format:  

  • Two drives per player, per round are required
  • All teams will start on the GOLD tee's 
  • Score a birdie or better and move back one tee box
  • Score par and stay on current tee box
  • Score bogey or worse and move up one tee box
  • *Women tee off from one tee box ahead of the Team’s current Tee Box*

Standard scramble rules, place ball within one club length off green, 6 inches on green.  No improving your lie, rough stays in rough, sand in sand, etc… You must mark whose drive was used on each hole.

Final tournament score is based on both days’ combined scores

Day 1: Wed. January 21st Tee off 12:30 PM                    Day 2: Thur. January 22nd Tee off 8:30 AM.                      This registration form includes entry fees for four (4) Golfers in the Winter Classic Tournament. Check In for the tournament will start at 11:00 AM January 21st. Your business name or logo will be listed on the event website if provided and a sponsor sign will be displayed on a tee box.

Drink Sponsor

The Drink Sponsorship includes signage with your company’s name on the beverage cart letting everyone know that you are the Drink Sponsor, along with providing 2 drink tickets to every participant. Drink tickets are good for non-alcoholic beverages only.

Golf Ball Sponsor

The Golf Ball Sponsorship includes providing 1 sleeve of logoed golf balls to each participant of each tournament with your company’s logo on the balls.

Putting Contest Sponsor

The Putting Contest Sponsorship includes prominent signage stating that the putting contest is sponsored by your company, and this sponsorship pays for the prizes given out for the putting contest winners.

Chipping Contest Sponsor

The Chipping Contest Sponsorship includes prominent signage stating that the putting contest is sponsored by your company, and this sponsorship pays for the prizes given out for the putting contest winners.

The Lunch Sponsorship includes a Banner with your company’s name displayed in a prominent location inside the restaurant area during the lunch.

The Registration Sponsorship includes prominent signage at the registration table stating that the Power Open is sponsored by your company.

Tee Sign Sponsor

This sponsorship does not include registration of golfers, but rather, this sponsorship gets a sign displayed on one tee box.

Purchase Raffle Tickets

Every year, in addition to donating to our charities, we give away some great prizes! If you would like a chance to win some of these prizes then please purchase some raffle tickets. It's $100 for 50 raffle tickets.

The Grand Prize for the Raffle will be a complete set of clubs!
